Tea was never just a drink for us, it was a ritual, a pause, a way of being together.
When we moved to Melbourne, we fell in love with the food, the people, and the energy of the city. But in a place driven by coffee culture, we quickly realised something was missing. While you can find a latte on every corner, finding premium, transparent, truly authentic tea was a different story.
Mua Cha was born from a simple mission: to source and share the finest organic teas from the most renowned growing regions across the globe. Whether it is the vibrant first-harvest Matcha of Japan or the complex, hand-picked Oolongs of Taiwan, we are dedicated to bringing the best of the world's tea culture to you.
The Whole Leaf Philosophy
Organic is not a buzzword for us; it is a non-negotiable. We believe that what we put into our bodies matters deeply.
Take Matcha as an example: unlike steeped tea, you consume the entire leaf. You are eating the plant itself. If there are pesticides or chemicals on that farm, they end up in your body. This philosophy extends to every tea we source. If it isn't clean, healthy, and worthy of being consumed every single day, it doesn't make it into a Mua Cha tin.
We Go Where the Tea Is
From the misty high-mountains of Taiwan to the historic hills of Wazuka, Japan, we only work with producers we know, meet, and trust. From the tea leaves to the handcrafted ceramics they are served in, if we wouldn’t use it in our own home, we wouldn’t offer it to you.
